Apple Pay now live in Australia with American Express

American Express Personal, Small Business and Corporate Card Members can now pay on the go with Apple Pay
SYDNEY, Australia – 19 November, 2015 – From today, American Express Issued Card Members in Australia can use Apple Pay™, the easy and secure way to pay with iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad and Apple Watch.

From today, Card Members with a card issued directly by American Express, can add their eligible personal, small business and corporate American Express® Card and pay with their iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch at participating stores where contactless American Express payments are currently accepted. Card Members can also use their iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3 or iPad Pro to pay within participating merchant apps.

Australian Card Members who use an eligible American Express Card with Apple Pay will receive real-time notifications and will be able to view details of all recent purchases on their card. They will have easy access to the American Express Mobile App directly from the Wallet app, for on-the-go access to Amex Offers and the ability to use their Membership Rewards points to pay for recent purchases in the American Express Mobile App.
Safety & Security
Security is at the core of American Express with Apple Pay. When a Card Member adds a Card to Apple Pay, the actual Card numbers are not stored on the device. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on their device.
How to Add an American Express Card to Apple Pay
Card Members can go to Wallet app in iOS 9 to get started. If a Card Member already has an eligible American Express Card on file with iTunes, they only need to type in the Card Verification Code – or they can simply choose to add a new American Express Card.
